Bearing Slides

Hi Gordon, Does the 20" Renegade have travel stops on the bearing sides? I watched your "you tube" on the '18 inch bearing glue up' and you showed the stops. All of your on-line pictures of your 20" appears to not have stops on the ends of the slides…

Also is there any position locks for when the scope is unattended to prevent wind or any other unwanted forces to move it around?

Thanks,
Ken

Re: Bearing Slides

Hi, Ken,

All of the Renegades have the hard stops built right into the bearing, so the telescope can't travel too far up or down. Your bearing pretty much looks like the one in the video. I am putting in locking positions on both axis, particularly so you can transport on the wheelbarrow handles without having it get out of control. Although if you separate the upper part from the bottom part at the adapter ring, the bottom part is "bottom heavy" so it doesn't move much at all anyway.

Thanks!
Gordon
